About Us

Kinoko Tomi,

Director of Operations

As a group of animal-loving volunteers, we were forced to consider trends that were outside of normal and traditional domestic animal fundraising activities. When we got word of announcements with speculations of possible new variants of the initial virus, we all came together and the Pause for Paws™ Project was proposed. This was truly one of those beyond the comfort zone moments; we could feel that the vibes in the room had hit a new high. We all knew this project would not only be new and exciting but also with a lot of hard work and dedication we can help educate the community of animal charities, that the Pause for Paws™ Project is the foundation to help all domestic animal charities locally and eventually globally.

As the pandemic erupted we witnessed the collapse of many, if not all domestic animal charities as well as animal shelters within certain areas being closed, some domestic animals being abandoned and those still operating were forced to roof, feed and medicate many more animals. Left, right, and center, it was awful to witness, and even more, it was heartbreaking to know that there was not much that the team could do until the project launch.

During the initial start of the Pause for Paws ™ Project, team members became aware of the drastic jump in domestic animal problems climbing due to the pandemic and the increasing amount of people working from home. We realized that this would be the greatest donation we could make towards all domestic animals in dire need. With the domestic animal community, we can change the way people donate for the better, helping to ensure that no one else, should ever bare witness to the darkest and somewhat haunting experiences we endured during the global pandemic.

Now the epidemic prevention measures are once again being ever so slightly relaxed and society is slowly trying to come to terms with what had happened and how we all have been affected by it, knowing this, the domestic animal world still needs a lot of help and support, but this time, you can help.
